A Quantitative 1H NMR Method for Screening Cannabinoids in CBD Oils
نویسندگان
چکیده
Toxicologically relevant levels of the psychoactive ?9-tetrahydocannabinol (?9-THC) as well high non-psychoactive cannabinoids potentially occur in CBD (cannabidiol) oils. For consumer protection fast-growing oil market, facile and rapid quantitative methods to determine cannabinoid content are crucial. However, current standard method, i.e., liquid chromatography combined with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS), requires a time-consuming multistep sample preparation. In this study, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (qNMR) method for screening oils was developed. Contrary HPLC-MS/MS qNMR features simple preparation, only diluting deuterochloroform. Pulse length-based concentration determination (PULCON) enables direct quantification using an external standard. The signal intensities were enhanced during NMR spectra acquisition by means multiple suppression triglycerides which major component matrix. validation confirmed linearity CBD, cannabinol (CBN), ?9-THC ?8-THC hemp seed sufficient recoveries precision screening. Comparing results data 46 commercial verified accuracy but higher limits detection. developed paves way increasing throughput complementary before HPLC-MS/MS.

متن کاملStandardized method for high-resolution 1H-NMR of cerebrospinal fluid.
This study describes a standardized method for recording single-pulse 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) spectra from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Quantitative data for alanine, valine, threonine, and lactic acid correlated well with data obtained with conventional techniques. The pH of the samples is important for the reproducibility of the chemical shift of resonances, and should be standar...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis of hydrogen peroxide by 1H NMR spectroscopy.
A technique utilizing 1H NMR spectroscopy has been developed to measure the concentration of hydrogen peroxide from 10(-3) to 10 M. Hydrogen peroxide produces a peak at around 10-11 ppm, depending upon the interaction between solvent molecules and hydrogen peroxide molecules. The intensity of this peak can be monitored once every 30 s, enabling the measurement of changes in hydrogen peroxide co...
متن کاملQuantitative 1H NMR spectroscopy of blood plasma metabolites.
The absolute quantification of blood plasma metabolites by proton NMR spectroscopy is complicated by the presence of a baseline and broad resonances originating from serum macromolecules and lipoproteins. A method for spectral simplification of proton NMR spectra of blood plasma is presented. Serum macromolecules and metabolites are completely separated by utilizing the large difference in tran...
